About KYTT

The Karinya Youth Transitional Tenancy program supports young people aged 16–24 who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless.

We provide a safe and stable place to live while young people take the next steps toward independence. Through transitional housing and personalised support, we walk alongside each young person as they build confidence, develop life skills and create a future that feels possible.

Support is centred around each young person and led by their goals. Through intensive case management and wrap-around support, we take the time to understand their story, recognise their strengths and support them to move forward in a way that feels right for them.

Our work is grounded in trauma-informed practice and a strong commitment to safeguarding. We understand that many young people have experienced trauma, and we prioritise creating a space where they feel safe, respected and supported.

Accommodation is provided for up to two years, offering the time and stability needed to build strong foundations for independent living.

Karinya Youth Transitional Tenancy (KYTT) is supported by the Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF) under a three-year pilot.
